DESCRIPTION:
Artemis was once a beautiful wolf, back in her youth. Tall and slender, with tan fur marked by varying shades of grey and white, she stood out in the crowd. But as time went on, she began to earn marks of her wildness, and one such mark mars her beauty- a deep, almost diamond-shaped scar on her forehead, a 'gift' from her brother. Her eyes are a piercing amber, but are virtually expressionless, never giving away what she doesn't want them to give away. Her nose and paw pads are solid black, while her claws are dark brown and somewhat sharper than average.


PERSONALITY
Bring me out, from the prison of my own pride

TRAITS:
A highly independent and cautious wolf, Artemis does not find it easy to trust others. She’s very uneasy and wary of strangers to the point of outright attacking them without hesitation should she feel even the faintest hint of a threat, and when it comes to working with her pack she’s less than capable, as her caution makes it hard for her to cooperate with others. She is very stubborn and can be quite difficult, but at the same time also vocal- if she doesn’t like something, you can count on her to say as much.

But for all her flaws, Artemis does have a few redeeming features. Perhaps her best trait is her loyalty. While it’s extremely hard for her to trust, once someone has earned her trust, she’s incredibly loyal to them, and would go as far as die to protect them purely because there are so few she would trust so much. She is also very brave and dependable- if she says she’ll do something, she’ll do it, no matter what the cost. The only exception is if it would hurt her brother- while he is also her enemy, she would rather die than let harm befall him, and him being in danger is the only thing that could make her betray her pack and friends.

HISTORY
My God, I need a hope I can't deny

Artemis was born into another pack far away, with two siblings- a brother, Ares, and sister, Athena. She was raised by two doting parents, but as young pups her and her brother were separated from the rest of their family- and from each other- when they were washed away whilst trying to cross a flooded river. They would never see their birth pack again, as everybody else perished in the waters.

When Artemis finally washed up on the bank, she was exhausted and starving, and thought she would die there and then. Doubting her skills, she simply didn’t bother to move, believing there to be no point if she would simply die somewhere else. She would have died there, were she not discovered by another wolf, a male named Hunter.

It seemed like a stroke of luck for Artemis. Hunter looked after her, fed her and taught her to survive. But she soon began to suspect he didn’t really care about her, a suspicion proven when she chose to disobey an order to steal food from another wolf. As punishment, he attacked her and almost killed her. She was just seven months old.

Fortunately she survived, with only a faint scar hidden beneath her fur to show. She fled from Hunter soon after her wounds had healed, and found herself alone once more.

Her life of solitude continued for a year, until she stumbled upon the Torn Hearts pack. Finally, at long last, she found a place to call home, an Alpha to place her trust in and a reason to live. Her life would have been perfect, were it not for the fact she had discovered one tiny thing.

Her brother, once called Ares, is now called Felix- and he has joined the Dark Blood pack. Though Artemis refuses to abandon her new pack- they took her in when she had nobody else, and she feels she owes them too much- she also refuses to let anybody hurt the only family she has left. So, keeping her relations to Felix a secret, she has tried to work in secret to prevent outright hostilities growing- even though she knows it’s only a matter of time until she is forced to face her littermate in battle.

She still loves her brother despite his betrayal, but accepts they are enemies now- even though she would still try to protect him, even if it meant betraying her own pack.
The fact Felix is her brother is a secret- unless Artemis or Felix tells someone ICly, nobody should know about it.
